How to Pass the FTCE Math Test?
If you’re preparing to become a teacher in Florida, you will likely need to pass the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE). However, your testing requirements in the overall FTCE will depend on your application process.
Math is one of four subtests in the general knowledge section that you will need to pass, and some consider it the most difficult.
There are two subsequent math tests that you may need to pass: Mathematics 6-12 and Middle Grades Mathematics 6-9.

FTCE Math Test Format
The FTCE general knowledge math test consists of around 40 multiple-choice questions and will be performed on a computer. You will have 100 minutes to complete the test.
The Middle Grades Mathematics 6-9 and Mathematics 6-12 are computer-based tests, with around 70 questions that you have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete.
Some additional questions may be included on the test which does not count towards your mark; they are provided to test new questions for the examiners.
While you can’t take your calculator into the test, you will be provided with an on-screen calculator or a Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS scientific calculator, as well as a reference sheet containing basic formulas and conversions.

You may try to take the free approach and just study the areas you know are required. There are also free online guides and resources to help you prepare. You should even find Youtube videos available on the subject if you prefer to learn that way.
If you want to spend a little money, you can get a guide specific to each test you’re looking to pass. Study guides will provide a complete outline of everything required and may even offer example tests to try.
