SC.4.2 Waves: Waves and Information

  • SC.4.2.1.aLight, Sound, and Wave BehaviorDevelop a model of waves to describe patterns in terms of amplitude and wavelength and that waves can cause objects to move
  • SC.4.2.1.bGenerate Multiple Solutions Patterns Transfer Information Communicating PatternsGenerate and compare multiple solutions that use patterns to transfer information

SC.4.4 Energy: Conservation and Transfer

  • SC.4.4.2.aEvidence Explanation Relating Speed Object Energy Object SpeedUse evidence to construct an explanation relating the speed of an object to the energy of that object
  • SC.4.4.2.bMagnets, Electricity, and CircuitsMake observations to provide evidence that energy can be transferred from place to place by sound, light, heat, and electrical currents
  • SC.4.4.2.cQuestions Outcomes About Changes Energy Occur When ObjectsAsk questions and predict outcomes about the changes in energy that occur when objects collide
  • SC.4.4.2.dEnergy Forms, Transfer, and TransformationApply scientific ideas to design, test, and refine a device that converts energy from one form to another

  • SC.4.4.2.fNatural Resources and Human ImpactsObtain and combine information to describe that energy and fuels are derived from natural resources and that their uses affect the environment

SC.4.6 Structure, Function, and Information Processing

  • SC.4.6.3.aLight Reflecting Objects Entering Eyes Allows Objects SeenDevelop a model to describe that light reflecting from objects and entering the eyes allows objects to be seen
  • SC.4.6.3.bOrganism Needs, Structures, and Life CyclesConstruct an argument that plants and animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction
  • SC.4.6.3.cPatterns, Systems, Cause and Effect, and ChangeUse a model to describe that animals receive different types of information through their senses, process the information in their brain, and respond to the information

SC.4.13 Earth's Systems: Processes That Shape the Earth

Nebraska Grade 4 Science FAQ

Does Nebraska test science in grade 4?

No. Nebraska gives NSCAS Science in grades 5, 8, and 11, so grade 4 students do not sit a state science test this year. The standards on this page are still the ones grade 4 teachers teach, and they are what the next science test builds on.

Which standards does grade 4 science in Nebraska follow?

Nebraska follows the Nebraska College and Career Ready Standards for Science, published by the Nebraska Department of Education. All 15 of this grade's standards are listed further down the page with their official codes.

How long are the practice tests?

Each of the six practice tests has 30 questions and a 55-minute timer. The timer auto-submits at zero and you get your score, a breakdown by science area, and a written explanation for every question.

Is any of this free?

Yes, every practice test, quiz, and flashcard set on this page is free and needs no login. Your progress is saved in your own browser and nowhere else.

What is the fastest way to use this page?

Take practice test 1 cold. Look at the topic breakdown, pick the weakest science area, and do that skill quiz. Then read the quick review for that area and come back for practice test 2.
