Choose a starting skill for New York Grade 7 math
The New York State mathematics standards describe Grade 7 work in proportional relationships, rational-number operations, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability. Use your teacher’s current assignments to select a topic. This worksheet collection is independent practice, not an official NYSED test or a complete standards checklist.
- Signed-number arithmetic: start with Adding and Subtracting Integers if negative signs are causing mistakes. Write the operation at each step before calculating.
- Rates and proportions: use Ratio and Rates Word Problems to practice comparing quantities and finding a unit rate. Label the units so you can explain what the answer means.
- Percent applications: try Discount, Tax and Tip. Decide whether the question asks for the percent amount or the final total.
Topics such as systems of equations, quadratic equations and negative-exponent rules go beyond the core Grade 7 work described here. Keep them for an assigned extension or later study; you do not need to finish this entire page before using Grade 7 practice.

Review your work before choosing more practice
Complete a small set without looking at the answers. Check the work, identify the first step that went wrong, and retry the problem. For a word problem, explain the quantity you found and include its units. Then use a fresh problem to check the same skill.
