Does Florida test science in grade 5?
Yes. Florida students take the Florida Statewide Science Assessment (SSA) in grade 5. Still assesses NGSSS at grade 5 with a B.E.S.T.-aligned update phased in. Administered on paper. B.E.S.T. Is not NGSS-aligned; it retains traditional Physical/Life/Earth Science strands.
