# How to prepare for HSPT Math Test

The High School Placement Test (HSPT), also known as STS-HSPT, formulated by the Scholastic Testing Service (STS) to determine acceptance in parochial high schools.

The HSPT test consists of five multiple-choice sections:

• Verbal Skills: 60 questions – 16 minutes
• Quantitative Skills: 52 questions – 30 minutes
• Reading: 62 questions – 25 minutes
• Mathematics: 64 questions – 45 minutes
• Language: 60 questions – 25 minutes

Keep in mind that the Quantitative Skills and the Mathematics sections are different parts. The Quantitative Skills section contains 52 questions providing number series, geometric comparisons, and number manipulation, whereas the Mathematics part measures students’ math knowledge.
