The TASC is a test that examines your knowledge capacity in certain subjects. Completion of the short assessment test shows that you have high school-level knowledge. A high school degree is the bare minimum to get a job in the United States.

For many reasons, some people do not have their High School agree. The TASC is great because people that have dropped out of high school get the chance to take the exam and earn their high school degree.

They will completely bypass the 4 years of high school and have their degree to be able to get a job or go on to higher education.

The test section of the TASC

The exam is heavy time you’re given a certain amount of time to complete all of the questions and answer to the best of your capabilities. There are 51 questions in the math section of the exam. The math section is split up into two parts.

  • A calculator will be permitted for one only part of the exam.
  •  This part of the exam must be completed within 55 minutes.
  • The second part of the exam must be completed within 50 minutes and there is no calculator allowed.
  • There are 37 multiple-choice questions on the exam. These questions are most likely word problems that you will be expected to solve thoroughly showing your work.  These questions also required mathematical TASC formulas as well.

Content Breakdown

Number and quantities

  • Test takers will work and understand quantitative changes.
  • Must know how to use units to solve problems

Algebra

  • Of course, you will be dealing with more multiple-choice type questions understanding charts and grids, constructive response

Geometry

  • A good portion of it is multiple choice grass and grid response, Well-thought-out responses.
  • Must know how to use a calculator to solve proportional reasoning problems
  • Analyze graphs and examine the distance and areas based on the scale of the unit

Statistic and Probability

● Demonstrate Mastery skills of subsets representing possible outcomes of a possible question as well as the ability to describe the event

● Must be able to select a proper subset of the sample space and must have quantitative reasoning skills.

You will be expected to tackle some in-depth algebra and geometry as well. Here is the breakdown:

  • Must know how to solve quadratic equations.
  • Understand graphing solutions and know how to read graphs as well
  • Must know what domain and range of function
