The Night before the Test!

Take a deep, comfortable breath

Take deep breaths to reduce stress quickly. Close your eyes easily, relax your body, think calmly and breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Repeat this until you feel relaxed. This method is very useful before the exam.

Laugh out loud

Laughing has many short-term benefits, such as stimulating potential organs, and activating and relieving stress responses. Laughter has also been shown to have long-term benefits such as improving the immune system and increasing your satisfaction.

Eat healthy foods

Everything you choose for dinner is food, and be sure to drink plenty of water. Make sure you eat plenty of carbohydrates like potatoes, rice, and pasta, don’t forget protein-rich foods and vegetables.

Pack your bag

Put your essentials in the night before so you do not have a stress test in the morning. Bring at least two IDs, your admission or confirmation ticket, a pencil, an easy-to-eat snack, bottled water, and any medications you need.

Map out your route

The night before, re-check your place and time of the exam and determine when you should leave your place to get to the site soon. It also allows you to relax a bit.

Get enough sleep

If you get enough rest, your memory recall will be much better. One study found that people who got enough sleep before a math test were better than those who stayed up all night studying.

On Test Day!

Eat a smart breakfast

Your breakfast should contain vitamins that will keep you full and energized. If you think you will need it during the exam, bring a snack.

Wear appropriate attire

Be prepared for different temperatures in the test environment. You do not want to be frustrated by being too hot or cold air while taking the test.

Double-check everything

If you can, put everything in your bag the night before so you don’t have to worry about the morning anymore, but make sure you have everything you need for the exam, such as a pen, paper or book, before leaving the house.

Think positively

A positive attitude is a powerful thing that you can do with confidence in your abilities. It increases your energy and motivation to succeed.

During the Test!

Manage your time

This test allows a total of 3 hours and 30 minutes to be used. Sections and subtests are not confined in time in any way. Students are responsible for managing their overall use of time. Do not rush too fast you can ignore important details, and do not go too slow because of the lack of time you may end up in a hurry.

Read each question carefully

Sometimes the correct answer to a question depends on a keyword, so read each question in its entirety and then answer.

Skip difficult questions

If you cannot answer the question within the time limit you have calculated, move and continue, and then return to it. Mark the unanswered questions with a clear and bold mark to make sure you see them in the second passage.

Breathe in and out!

If you feel that your stress is increasing and you are frustrated, it is time to rest for a few seconds to get back on track. To relax, first, take a deep breath, let your shoulders relax, and close your eyes. This will help you to be more productive when you relax.

Hunt for word clues

Write down or circle the most important words in the question. The specific words used can be very useful tools in finding the right answer. Look for these details in each multiple-choice answer. The correct answer must correspond to each part of the question, so pay attention to negatives (“none”, “neither”, “not”), qualifiers (“usually” “often”) and superlatives (“most”, “best”)

Check your answers

If you finish your exam early and have extra time, take a look at each question and make sure you answer it the way you want.

After the Test!

It does not make sense to ask yourself the answer to the question and increase your stress level. The CHSPE exam is over and it’s time to relax. There is nothing you can do about it. It is best to spend time with your friends during the day or watch movies or whatever makes you happy.

If you pass the test, your efforts will pay off and you will be happy. If you are not accepted, do not be upset. Know your strengths and weaknesses, and plan for the next test.
