Arizona tests science in grades 5, 8, and 11, not in grade 7, so seventh grade is the year to build the ideas the AzSCI will ask about later. Practice tests, skill quizzes, flashcards, and every Arizona science standard for this grade, free.

7.P Physical Sciences

  • 7.P2U1.1Forces, Motion, and InteractionsCollect and analyze data demonstrating how electromagnetic forces can be attractive or repulsive and can vary in strength
  • 7.P2U1.2Forces, Motion, and InteractionsDevelop and use a model to predict how forces act on objects at a distance
  • 7.P3U1.3Scientific Questions, Investigations, and EvidencePlan and carry out an investigation that can support an evidence-based explanation of how objects on Earth are affected by gravitational force
  • 7.P3U1.4Forces, Motion, and InteractionsUse non-algebraic mathematics and computational thinking to explain Newton's laws of motion

7.E Earth and Space Sciences

  • 7.E1U1.5Earth Materials, Rocks, Fossils, and LandformsConstruct a model that shows the cycling of matter and flow of energy in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere
  • 7.E1U1.6Earth Materials, Rocks, Fossils, and LandformsConstruct a model to explain how the distribution of fossils and rocks, continental shapes, and seafloor structures provides evidence of the past plate motions
  • 7.E1U2.7Data Explanation Advances Technology Improved Weather PredictionAnalyze and interpret data to construct an explanation for how advances in technology has improved weather prediction

7.L Life Sciences

  • 7.L1U1.8Cells, Body Systems, and GeneticsObtain, evaluate, and communicate information to provide evidence that all living things are made of cells, cells come from existing cells, and cells are the basic structural and functional unit of all living things

  • 7.L1U1.10Organism Needs, Structures, and Life CyclesDevelop and use a model to explain how cells, tissues, and organ systems maintain life (animals)
  • 7.L1U1.11Organism Needs, Structures, and Life CyclesExplain how organisms maintain internal stability and evaluate the effect of the external factors on organisms' internal stability
  • 7.L2U1.12Energy Forms, Transfer, and TransformationConstruct an explanation for how some plant cells convert light energy into food energy

Arizona Grade 7 Science FAQ

Does Arizona test science in grade 7?

No. Arizona gives the AzSCI in grades 5, 8, and 11, so grade 7 students do not sit a state science test this year. The standards on this page are still the ones grade 7 teachers teach, and they are what the next science test builds on.

Which standards does grade 7 science in Arizona follow?

Arizona follows the Arizona Science Standards, published by the Arizona Department of Education. All 12 of this grade's standards are listed further down the page with their official codes.

How long are the practice tests?

Each of the six practice tests has 40 questions and a 70-minute timer. The timer auto-submits at zero and you get your score, a breakdown by science area, and a written explanation for every question.

Is any of this free?

Yes, every practice test, quiz, and flashcard set on this page is free and needs no login. Your progress is saved in your own browser and nowhere else.

What is the fastest way to use this page?

Take practice test 1 cold. Look at the topic breakdown, pick the weakest science area, and do that skill quiz. Then read the quick review for that area and come back for practice test 2.
