The SAT divide into two sections:
- Math
- Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
Both the SAT math section and the SAT writing section have a total of 800 possible points. When the two-division scores are combined, they get a total score of 1600. There is also an SAT essay that is optional and does not include an overall score. The highest possible score is SAT 1600, which means that one person has the correct answer to each SAT reading and SAT math question. According to the results of the College Board, only 1% of students scored between 1550 and 1600 points.
So, the perfect SAT score is 1600, which is obtained by getting a score of 800 in each section.
