How to Prepare for the TABE Math Test?
The Test of Adult Basic Education, or TABE, is a diagnostic test to determine a person’s skill levels and aptitudes.
The TABE test is used by schools and some colleges to help them assess a student’s academic readiness.
The TABE 9/10 test has been a standard adult education assessment since 2003. The new version of TABE 11/12 marks a significant movement forward, responding to changes in standards for adult education.
The TABE test has five levels: Literacy, Easy, Medium, Difficult, and Advanced. These levels are designated on the test by L, E, M, D, and A. Each level of TABE has its range of scale scores that are aligned to specific NRS (National Reporting System) levels.
The TABE test is aligned with the national College and Career Readiness Standards for the three core subject areas:
TABE 11 & 12 contains approximately 40 questions in each section.
Math will also only be one test, not a separate Math Comp and Applied Math as TABE 9 & 10 has.
The Math section covers basic mathematics topics, quantitative problem-solving, and algebraic questions.
You are allowed to use a scientific calculator for TABE Level D.

2. Think of math positively
One of the first requirements for passing a test is to be mentally prepared. If you have ever been stressed by thinking about a math test, it is better to fix this problem and change your perspective before you start studying for the test.
Although it may seem useless to you, research has shown that people who have a positive view of studying math are more successful on tests.
3. Make the concepts clear
Avoid scattered studying. First, distinguish basic concepts from advanced ones. Then study the basics first.
You can study more complex concepts after learning fundamental math concepts. The benefit of this method of study is that you do not get confused and the content will fit better in your mind.
4. Practice daily
Practicing daily is another important step to succeed in the TABE test. If you have been reading content from time to time, skip this method. You need a purposeful daily study program to pass the TABE test.
If you are not used to such a program, do not worry, start with less study time and gradually increase this time. You will see that this method will be the key to your success in the test.

You can take these tests online or as a written practice test.
Doing these tests will make you aware of your strengths and weaknesses and then improve your weaknesses by practicing.
