Learn to find the evidence behind your answer

Two choices can sound convincing until you look closely at the source. GED Social Studies Complete Prep gives you guided review and repeated practice in making that decision. This instant downloadable PDF combines a study guide with 50 practice tests: ten in the book and forty additional tests online.

Work through a lesson when you need help, or take a test to find out where your reasoning breaks down. You might need to check a graph’s units, separate a speaker’s opinion from a fact, or follow the relationship between Congress and the president. The answer explanations help you see the step you missed.

Lessons, tests, and help with your answers

Concept review

Read lessons on civics and government, U.S. history, economics, and geography, with attention to how each idea appears in a source-based question.

Guided reasoning

Follow question walkthroughs and source-and-data activities before attempting the longer tests independently.

Test practice

Use ten 35-question tests in the PDF. Their QR codes and clickable links also open the corresponding online tests.

Additional online tests

Choose from forty more tests through the book’s access pages. Online tests provide a timer, scoring, and answer explanations.

Answer support

Check compact keys and detailed explanations for all ten tests printed in the book. Return to the relevant lesson when you need another example.

Visual reminders

Handwritten study panels, cartoons, and after-test breaks offer a change of pace between more demanding reading tasks.

Make each test useful

Begin with one test and record your answers before looking at the explanations. When you review, keep a short list of the mistakes you can explain: an unsupported inference, a reversed cause-and-effect relationship, or a calculation made with the wrong value. Choose one of those skills for your next study session.

You can use the 70-minute practice timer to rehearse pacing. Leave yourself time to review flagged questions. The book’s 100-200 practice score is an unofficial study index, not a calibrated GED score or a prediction of passing. If your result is near 145, continue reviewing and use official readiness tools before deciding to sit the exam.

Topics you will work with

  • Civics: constitutional principles, federalism, rights, elections, and the responsibilities of government.
  • History: chronology, historical context, documents, reform, and the limits of a source.
  • Economics: incentives, supply and demand, public policy, trade, and economic data.
  • Geography: maps, migration, resources, population patterns, and relationships between places.
  • Across subjects: compare evidence, interpret charts, calculate quantities, and judge what a claim actually supports.

Print what you need

The non-editable PDF uses US Letter pages, 8.5 x 11 inches. Print selected lessons or tests for personal study, then keep your written work beside the explanations while you review.

Who this book helps

It fits adult learners preparing for GED Social Studies and tutors guiding focused review. A student who remembers the vocabulary but struggles to justify an answer can use the walkthroughs to slow down and practice finding support.

If you need instruction in the other three GED subjects, choose resources for those subjects too. This book concentrates on Social Studies. It is an independent practice resource, and it does not replace official testing information or promise a passing score.

Online resource note

The free Social Studies hub currently has 147 flashcards. The cover’s 200+ flashcards refers to a planned expansion that is not yet available. You can use the current deck, lessons, and videos now; no launch date for the expanded deck is promised.
