Pick a direction

Choose a study route that fits your gaps

Use missed and guessed questions as signals. Identify the organizational goal, the people and legal risks, the evidence available, and the HR strategy that best aligns with long-term results.

1 · Map your baselineTake a diagnostic and sort misses into HRCI’s five functional areas.
2 · Think like a business partnerReview organizational strategy, finance, metrics, governance, risk, ethics, and change leadership.
3 · Connect workforce programsPractice forecasting and talent acquisition, then link succession, development, engagement, and performance to business needs.
4 · Align rewards and systemsReview total rewards strategy, HR technology, data protection, safety, security, and crisis planning.

Spend the most review time on Leadership and Strategy and Talent Management, then use mixed scenarios to connect decisions across all five areas.

A routine you can adapt

A four-week SPHR study plan

Adjust the pace to your background and exam date. Keep an error log with the functional area, strategic decision, evidence or constraint, and why your first answer missed it.

Week 3 · Talent management

Review succession, leadership development, learning, performance, engagement, retention, employee growth, labor strategy, and exits.

Week 4 · Rewards, systems, and mixed review

Study compensation, benefits, recognition, HR data, digital systems, privacy, safety, and security. Finish with mixed practice and revisit weaker areas.
