Study the client-needs categories alongside the clinical judgment process. Recognizing a cue is only part of the work: you must decide what it suggests, choose a safe response and evaluate the available follow-up findings. The practice keeps the RN’s responsibilities distinct from other roles.

This is fixed printed practice based on the 2026–2029 RN test plan. It includes three six-item clinical cases but does not reproduce computerized adaptive testing or determine an NCLEX pass result.

QUICK ANSWERS

NCLEX-RN: common questions.

Understand the format, then choose your next step.

What is NCLEX-RN?

NCLEX-RN is the licensure examination for entry-level registered nurses. NCSBN publishes a distinct RN test plan covering client needs and clinical judgment; the current plan runs from April 2026 through March 2029. Official NCLEX-RN guidance

Is the actual NCLEX fixed at 85 questions?

No. The current adaptive examination can contain 85–150 items. This practice uses a fixed minimum-length structure for learning.

How long should I allow?

The practice directions allow a 300-minute session including orientation and breaks. That is a session ceiling, not a requirement to spend five hours on 85 items.

Does this include clinical cases?

Yes. Three original six-item case sets practise the stages of clinical judgment, alongside content-domain and supplemental learning tasks.

Can I turn the practice count into a pass probability?

No. Printed responses and learning points do not reproduce adaptive selection, ability estimation or official scoring.
