MEET THE TEST
What does NCLEX-PN practice cover?
Understand the scope of this practice resource.
PN preparation should reflect the responsibilities of a practical or vocational nurse: focused data collection, care-plan contribution, reinforced teaching and collaboration with the RN and other clinicians. Work from the stated permissions and findings when deciding what to do next.
This is fixed printed practice based on the 2026–2029 PN test plan. It includes clinical case sets, but it does not reproduce adaptive testing or establish eligibility, clinical authorization or an NCLEX pass result.

QUICK ANSWERS
NCLEX-PN: common questions.
Understand the format, then choose your next step.
What is NCLEX-PN?
NCLEX-PN is the licensure examination for entry-level practical or vocational nurses. Its client-needs and clinical-judgment framework is described in the PN test plan, which differs from the RN plan. Official NCLEX-PN guidance
Is NCLEX-PN the same as NCLEX-RN?
No. The plans and nursing roles differ. This form is written for entry-level practical or vocational nursing.
Is the official exam fixed at 85 items?
No. The current adaptive exam can contain 85–150 items. This practice uses the minimum-length structure with original learning tasks.
How long is the practice session?
The directions allow up to 300 minutes including orientation and breaks. Use that as a session ceiling, not a required duration for every learner.
Are case sets included?
Yes. Three six-item sets practise clinical judgment along with content-domain and supplemental learning tasks.
