YOUR CPA FAR STUDY COMPANION

CPA FAR Practice Tests & Study Tools

A receivable rollforward that will not tie, a lease schedule with the wrong starting balance, a cash-flow adjustment with its sign reversed: FAR rewards careful accounting. Use the practice form to find the gaps, then work through the review examples and flashcards before trying those ideas again.

This Online Center covers Financial Accounting and Reporting, the FAR core section of the Uniform CPA Examination. It is independent study material from Effortless Math. AUD, REG and the discipline sections have separate content requirements.

Know the FAR format

The 2026 FAR section uses 50 multiple-choice questions and seven task-based simulations over four hours. Its five testlets contain 25 MCQs, 25 MCQs, two simulations, three simulations and two simulations. An optional 15-minute stopped-clock break follows the third testlet. Other breaks use answering time.

Official FAR scores run from 0 to 99, with 75 required to pass. MCQs and simulations each contribute 50% of the official weighted score. The official score is scaled, rather than a percentage correct. Our practice reports MCQ accuracy and simulation-cell accuracy separately, with no official score conversion or pass prediction.

Exam details checked October 16, 2026 against AICPA and NASBA guidance. This material targets the blueprint effective January 1, 2026. AICPA also lists a blueprint effective January 1, 2027. If your test date falls in 2027, compare that version before choosing your study plan.

Find the accounting topic to review

The official content areas are Financial Reporting (30-40%), Select Balance Sheet Accounts (30-40%) and Select Transactions (25-35%). These are content-weight ranges, so a small practice form cannot duplicate every possible official allocation.

Financial Reporting

30-40%. Review reporting concepts, financial statements and disclosures, not-for-profit reporting, state and local government concepts, and financial-statement analysis.

Select Balance Sheet Accounts

30-40%. Work on cash and receivables, inventory, investments, property and intangible assets, liabilities and equity. Connect the measurement rule to the reported balance.

Select Transactions

25-35%. Practice accounting changes and errors, contingencies, revenue, income taxes, leases, subsequent events and other blueprint transactions.

CPA FAR Full-Length Original Practice Test 1

50 multiple-choice questions and seven original documentary simulations with 70 response cells. Allow 240 answering minutes, plus the optional 15-minute stopped-clock break. The exhibits, response requirements and explanations are included.

The form matches the section length and testlet structure for study. Its response controls and exact-match diagnostic feedback are independent teaching tools. Official software, pretest allocation, partial-credit rules and scaled scoring are not reproduced. Questions and answers remain in a separate noindex resource.

Work through the accounting

Fourteen short topic reviews connect the rule to a worked example and a common error. Read the review for the topic you missed, check the arithmetic yourself, and return to practice with a specific correction in mind.

Recall the rule before you reveal it

36 cards across financial reporting, account balances and transactions. Say the answer before you reveal it. Then explain the accounting reason aloud or write a short example. Use Previous and Next to revisit a card that still needs work.

Plan your next FAR study session

Start with an uninterrupted practice attempt if you can reserve four hours. Otherwise, work through one testlet at a time and treat the result as a learning session. Keep a record of the exhibit or rule behind each missed response, including the required sign and units. Review that topic, solve the example without looking, and revisit the related flashcards. Schedule a fresh timed attempt only after you can explain the corrections.

For simulations, read the required output first, inspect every exhibit, and build a short reconciliation. A correct total with an unexplained adjustment can hide a gap in understanding. Check the entry and its statement effect separately. Keep intermediate values unrounded unless the task directs otherwise.

Read by content area

Three free reading guides organize the FAR content areas and show how to turn missed answers into a study session. These are focused study guides, not a complete accounting textbook or a substitute for the current official blueprint.

CPA FAR questions, answered

Does this cover the whole CPA Exam?

It covers FAR only. Candidates also take AUD and REG core sections and one discipline section. Passing FAR is one step in the examination pathway, and licensure requirements depend on the jurisdiction.

What is included in the free practice?

One original full-length FAR form with 50 MCQs and seven documentary simulations, including 70 response cells, answers and worked explanations. A flashcard deck, Quick Review and three domain reading guides are also available.

Can I convert my practice accuracy into an official score?

No. The official scaled score depends on scoring methods this practice does not reproduce. Use the separate MCQ and simulation-cell results to locate topics and response skills that need another study session.

How should I use the simulations?

Read each exhibit and follow the stated response conventions. Enter zero when instructed, use the requested sign, and distinguish a balance from an adjustment. After submitting, explain why each entry belongs in that response cell.

Which blueprint should I use?

Use the official blueprint effective on your exam date. This hub targets the January 2026 version. The official AICPA page also provides the January 2027 blueprint and its change summary.

Do I need an account to open the study tools?

The practice, flashcards and review open directly from the header resource menus. Local practice progress is saved in this browser when browser storage is available. It does not sync between devices.
