Worked example 1

Convert 3/8 to a percent.

Start by writing the calculation clearly: 3 ÷ 8 = 0.375. Then 0.375 × 100 = 37.5%.

Answer: 37.5%

Worked example 2

Convert 0.04 to a percent and to a fraction.

Percent: 0.04 × 100 = 4%. Fraction: 4/100 = 1/25.
