QUICK ANSWERS

ASWB Clinical: common questions.

Understand the format, then choose your next step.

What is ASWB Clinical?

ASWB provides social work licensing examinations in several categories, including Clinical. Licensing boards determine eligibility. Each category has its own content expectations, so Clinical practice does not stand in for Bachelors, Masters or Advanced Generalist preparation. Official ASWB Clinical guidance

Which ASWB level is available?

The accepted starting form is Clinical. Other levels require separate content and practice.

Does it use the August 2026 structure?

Yes. It has 122 questions split into two 61-question sections, with 120 minutes for each.

Is there a break?

The directions describe an optional 10-minute break between sections. The 240-minute figure is answering time, so that break is additional.

Can I use my practice percentage as an official passing threshold?

No. The original learning score does not reproduce equating or a licensing decision.
