Coordinates, lines, and data — study worksheet

Name: ____________________ Date: ______________

This printable organizer accompanies the hub lesson. It is a guided study sheet, not a scored test or an official ASVAB question set.

1. Read the core idea

An ordered pair lists horizontal position before vertical position. Slope compares vertical change with horizontal change in a consistent direction. A line’s intercept identifies where it crosses an axis. Read graph scales before interpreting a point; one grid square need not equal one unit. For a mean, divide the sum by the number of values; a median depends on ordering the data.

2. Trace the worked example

Between (1, 2) and (3, 8), slope is (8 − 2)/(3 − 1) = 6/2 = 3. Reversing both differences also gives 3.

Write the steps or relationships that explain the result:

3. Use the method

Label x and y, read the scale, and write the relationship before calculating.

Summarize the method in your own words, with a diagram or labeled units where useful:

4. Record a mistake to avoid

Reversing only one difference changes the sign incorrectly.

Describe how you will recognize and correct this mistake:

5. Review after practice

Use the mixed practice check linked in the hub. Record the skill you need to revisit and your next study step.
