Fractions, unit prices, and ratios — study worksheet

Name: ____________________ Date: ______________

This printable organizer accompanies the hub lesson. It is a guided study sheet, not a scored test or an official ASVAB question set.

1. Read the core idea

A fraction represents part of a whole or a quotient. A ratio compares quantities in a stated order. A unit rate reduces a comparison to one unit, making prices or production rates easier to compare. In a proportion, put corresponding quantities in matching positions and keep units consistent. Reduce common factors before multiplying when that makes the arithmetic easier.

2. Trace the worked example

Six parts cost $15. One part costs $2.50, so ten parts cost $25 if the unit price stays the same.

Write the steps or relationships that explain the result:

3. Use the method

Label both sides of a ratio. Find a one-unit value before scaling to the requested amount.

Summarize the method in your own words, with a diagram or labeled units where useful:

4. Record a mistake to avoid

The ratio 2:3 means 2 of one quantity to 3 of another; it is not automatically 2 out of 3 total.

Describe how you will recognize and correct this mistake:

5. Review after practice

Use the mixed practice check linked in the hub. Record the skill you need to revisit and your next study step.
