How many questions are on the CLT?
The three core sections have 40 questions each, for 120 total: Verbal Reasoning, Grammar/Writing, and Quantitative Reasoning.
How long is the CLT?
The core sections total 120 minutes: 40 minutes for Verbal Reasoning, 35 minutes for Grammar/Writing, and 45 minutes for Quantitative Reasoning. Breaks are not included.
What is the CLT score scale?
Section scores are reported on 1–40 scales and the overall score on a 1–120 scale. Colleges set their own admissions and scholarship policies.
Is the essay part of every CLT?
The essay is optional and may be available for in-school testing. It is separate from the numerical score; availability depends on the test setting.
How should I start studying?
