This printable organizer accompanies the hub lesson. It is a guided study sheet, not a scored test or an official ASVAB question set.

1. Read the core idea

A stated-detail question asks for information directly present in the passage. An inference goes one step beyond the wording but still requires evidence. Separate what the writer actually says from what could be true in another situation. Check qualifiers such as some, often, only, or always; replacing a limited statement with an absolute one changes its meaning.

2. Trace the worked example

If a passage says a library extended hours after visitor requests, it supports that requests influenced the change. It does not establish that every visitor wanted longer hours.

Write the steps or relationships that explain the result:

3. Use the method

Locate the supporting sentence and explain how it justifies the answer without adding an outside assumption.

Summarize the method in your own words, with a diagram or labeled units where useful:

4. Record a mistake to avoid

An inference is supported reasoning, not a guess based on general knowledge.

Describe how you will recognize and correct this mistake:

5. Review after practice

Use the mixed practice check linked in the hub. Record the skill you need to revisit and your next study step.
