Voltage, current, and resistance — study worksheet

Name: ____________________ Date: ______________

This printable organizer accompanies the hub lesson. It is a guided study sheet, not a scored test or an official ASVAB question set.

1. Read the core idea

Voltage is potential difference, measured in volts. Current is the rate of charge flow, measured in amperes. Resistance opposes current and is measured in ohms. Keep these quantities distinct when reading a diagram. A complete conducting path is needed for sustained current in a simple circuit. An open switch interrupts that path; a short circuit can create an unintended low-resistance path.

2. Trace the worked example

With the same source voltage, increasing a resistor’s resistance decreases current in the ideal circuit.

Write the steps or relationships that explain the result:

3. Use the method

Identify the source, path, load, and switch. Label each quantity with its unit.

Summarize the method in your own words, with a diagram or labeled units where useful:

4. Record a mistake to avoid

Voltage and current are related quantities, not two names for the same thing.

Describe how you will recognize and correct this mistake:

5. Review after practice

Use the mixed practice check linked in the hub. Record the skill you need to revisit and your next study step.
