This printable organizer accompanies the hub lesson. It is a guided study sheet, not a scored test or an official ASVAB question set.
A four-stroke gasoline engine cycles through intake, compression, power, and exhaust. Intake brings in air and fuel or air alone with fuel supplied separately; compression prepares the charge; combustion drives the piston; exhaust removes spent gases. A crankshaft converts piston motion into rotation. Keep fuel delivery, ignition, and mechanical motion distinct when identifying a component’s purpose.
A spark plug ignites the mixture in a spark-ignition engine. It does not pump fuel or directly turn the crankshaft.
Write the steps or relationships that explain the result:
Trace air, fuel, ignition, piston motion, and exhaust as separate parts of the cycle.
Summarize the method in your own words, with a diagram or labeled units where useful:
Gasoline and diesel engines do not use identical ignition systems.
Describe how you will recognize and correct this mistake:
Use the mixed practice check linked in the hub. Record the skill you need to revisit and your next study step.
