Rotation versus reflection — study worksheet

Name: ____________________ Date: ______________

This printable organizer accompanies the hub lesson. It is a guided study sheet, not a scored test or an official ASVAB question set.

1. Read the core idea

A rotation turns the whole piece without reversing the order of its features around the boundary. A reflection produces a mirror image. Track at least two features together, such as a notch and a nearby corner, rather than following only one point. A single feature may land in a plausible place even after an invalid mirror flip.

2. Trace the worked example

An upward arrow becomes rightward after a quarter-turn clockwise. A second mark on its left side moves with the arrow; it cannot be chosen independently.

Write the steps or relationships that explain the result:

3. Use the method

Imagine the entire piece turning and check the relative order of its marked features.

Summarize the method in your own words, with a diagram or labeled units where useful:

4. Record a mistake to avoid

Moving one feature correctly is not enough if another feature has been mirrored.

Describe how you will recognize and correct this mistake:

5. Review after practice

Use the mixed practice check linked in the hub. Record the skill you need to revisit and your next study step.
