Reading Comprehension
Main idea, purpose, stated detail, inference, vocabulary in context, organization, cause and effect, sequence, comparison, and contrast.
Review the seven academic subject areas, see the question styles in this original practice battery, and use the topic checklists to plan your next study session.
Your school or program decides which sections and test-day rules apply. This guide describes the seven academic areas covered in this practice form. Counts and timing are features of this study resource, not universal HESI A2 rules.
Program directions come first. Use this independent study aid to review concepts, not to infer an official score or test configuration.
Review the subject map, question types, and high-value checks before your next practice set.

To keep the printable form easy to score, each item uses four choices and one best answer. Reading items use short original passages and ask for a main point, evidence, inference, context meaning, or purpose. Vocabulary items ask for contextual word meaning. Grammar items ask you to select a correct form or sentence. Math items use basic operations, conversions, ratios, and practical scenarios. Science items ask you to apply a core term, structure-function relationship, or introductory process.
Actual item counts, timing, screen tools, and delivery formats depend on the program and testing setup. This practice format does not reproduce HESI's secured test or any adaptive behavior.
Personality Profile and Learning Style are preference inventories, not right-or-wrong academic knowledge tests; they are not scored in this academic battery. Critical Thinking appears in some program-specific configurations and is not assigned a universal count here. HESI Exit and NCLEX are separate exams.
