CLEP Social Sciences and History Practice Test 1

Answer all 90 questions in approximately 68 minutes, a proportional share of the official exam's 90-minute limit for its roughly 120 questions. Every question has one best answer chosen from five options (A--E). Questions are grouped beneath shared stimuli---a paraphrased excerpt, a data table, a map, a timeline diagram, or a comparison chart---spanning the exam's full interdisciplinary scope. Coverage follows the official content weighting: History at 40 percent, divided evenly among United States History, Western Civilization, and World History (13--15 percent each); Government/Political Science at 20 percent; Geography at 20 percent, with sociology, anthropology, and psychology integrated within that category as the exam specifies; and Economics at 20 percent. All stimuli are constructed for this practice set; no passage is presented as a verbatim historical document. This independently written practice test is not an official CLEP exam form and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the College Board.
