AP Physics C: Mechanics Practice Test 1

This practice test contains 42 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 85 minutes, mirroring the length and timing of Section I of the official AP Physics C: Mechanics Exam, which counts for 50% of the total AP score. Each question offers four answer choices (A--D); select the single best answer for each item. This is a calculus-based physics course, so several items require derivatives and integrals directly --- variable-force work, impulse from a time-varying force, angular kinematics with non-constant angular acceleration, and center-of-mass and moment-of-inertia integrals --- alongside standard algebra-based mechanics reasoning. A scientific or graphing calculator may be used throughout, consistent with AP Physics C Exam policy. Several questions share a common physical setup described in words immediately before the questions that reference it; read each stimulus carefully before answering. Use $g=9.8$ m/s$^2$ unless a problem states otherwise. This is an independently written practice test created for this book and is not an official College Board AP Physics C: Mechanics exam form.
