AP Calculus AB Practice Test 1

The actual AP Calculus AB Exam, Section I (Multiple Choice), contains 42 questions and counts for 50% of the total AP score. It is administered in two timed parts: Part A has 29 questions in 62 minutes and does not permit a calculator, while Part B has 13 questions in 38 minutes and requires a graphing calculator. This companion practice set reproduces that same 42-question, two-part structure: Items 1--29 are written in Part A style (no calculator assumed), and Items 30--42 are written in Part B style, reflecting the numerical, transcendental, and data-driven items typical of calculator-active questions on the real exam. Even so, this set is calculator-neutral --- every item can be solved and checked by hand with careful work, so you may complete it with or without a calculator for extra practice. Work through all 42 items and choose the single best answer from the four choices given for each. This is an independently written practice test created for this book and is not an official College Board AP Calculus AB exam form.
